REVERAND GARY MORGAN STEWART

Reverend Gary Morgan Stewart is a devoted pastor, preacher, and servant leader whose life reflects a deep commitment to faith, family, and ministry. Born in Princess Anne, Maryland, he is the seventh of ten children born to the late William and Ethel Stewart. He received his early education in the Somerset County Public School System and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1980. Answering the call to deepen his theological foundation, he obtained a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at Virginia Union University in May 2014.
In 1983, Reverend Stewart married the former Arlette Scott of Catonsville, Maryland. Together, they have built a strong, faith-centered family and are the proud parents of two sons, Gary Jr. and Aaron, both of whom have answered the call to ministry. The Stewart family continues to make a meaningful impact on the Kingdom through various ministry efforts, including their musical outreach, Stewart Brothers and Friends. Their debut album, Encounter Hymn, was released in February 2019.
Reverend Stewart accepted his call to ministry in 2004 at Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Reverend Howard C. Wright. Through faithful service and spiritual growth, he was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
On April 25, 2014, during the 198th Session of the Baltimore Annual Conference, he received his first pastoral appointment to Williams A.M.E. Church, where he served for 12 wonderful and productive years. Under his leadership, Williams A.M.E. Church has experienced both spiritual growth and increased community impact. Reverend Stewart is widely recognized for his heartfelt preaching, compassionate pastoral care, and unwavering dedication to the body of Christ. He attributes his effectiveness in ministry to the grace of God and the steadfast support of his wife and congregation.
On February 14, he was appointed Pastor of Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church in
Catonsville, Maryland, expanding his pastoral leadership and service within the denomination. A man deeply grounded in Scripture, his life verse is Romans 12:1, calling believers to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.
Reverend Stewart lives by the conviction that true service requires sacrifice, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to putting God first in all areas of life.
He is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, and continues to serve both church and community with integrity, humility, and passion.
